| Mission Statement |
|
|
The Friends of Plain Township Parks is a non-profit organization dedicated to development and stewardship of Plain Township Parks.
The mission of the Friends is to work with the Township Trustees, Parks Director and staff in the preservation and conservation of the natural and cultural resources of the Parks and publically accessible green space for the use and enjoyment of many future generations.
These values will be upheld by the following goals:

- To work collaboratively with the Trustees and Parks Department within the scope of Plain Township's mini master plan and the Trustees plan for park development.
- To enhance and strengthen the Plain Township community by supporting the activities, programming and tournaments of the Plain Township Parks.
- To help fund the Plain Township Parks for recreational, historic, educational and cultural activities and for the maintenance and improvement of the parks facilities.
- To maintain close relationships with other organizations in the Plain Township area that are concerned with parks, recreation and open space.

These goals can be obtained through positive ideas and feedback during Friends of Parks meetings that align with the Trustees scope and goals for the department, membership drives, volunteerism, grant writing and monetary donations.

We are pleased to introduce the Friends of Plain Township Parks Board of Directors: President - Tom Stahlheder; Vice President - Danette Lund; Secretary - Dennis Bloomquist; Treasurer - Scott Haws; Board members - Denise Evans, Rob Steinberg and Eric Smer.

|
Meetings will be conducted at Plain Township Hall, 2600 Easton Street, Canton, Ohio 44721, the second Thursday of every month at 6:00pm beginning February 9, 2012.
|
|
|
The need for additional funding for these and other park projects has never been greater. We have no levy to draw from for operation and maintenance.
