A prescription drug drop box, made available through the Stark County Prescription Drug Drop Box Program, is available at the Plain Township Hall, 2600 Easton Street, NE, Canton, OH.

The Plain Township box is located in the lobby of the Plain Township Hall and is available for public use Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Unacceptable items for disposal include syringes, guns and mail. This is a free service.

The Stark County Prescription Drug Drop Box Program is a collaboration between SOLACE, The Waste Management District, Stark Metro Narcotics, the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Stark County, the Stark County Anti-Drug Coalition, the Stark County Opiate Task Force, Republic Steel and local police departments to make the disposal of unwanted prescription drugs and over the counter medications safe and convenient.

Since its establishment in May 2013, the Stark County Prescription Drug Drop Box Program has collected and safely disposed of over 8,900 pounds of unwanted and/or expired medications. Stark County and the State of Ohio continue to work to end the opiate epidemic. The safe and proper disposal of medications is a key component of Stark County's plan to prevent opiate addiction.
