Scott M. Haws Scott M. Haws

Scott Haws is a lifelong resident of Stark County, and a homeowner in Plain Township. He is married to Laura Wimer-Haws. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance from Kent State University. Scott also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from Walsh University. Scott also holds his certifications in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Six Sigma Black Belt trained, graduate of The Ohio Township Associations Leadership Academy, graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy, Cleveland Division 2017, graduate of the Ohio Treasurer of State Center for Public Investment Management (CPIM) certification 2019, and Leadership Stark County Signature and Government Academy programs graduate.

Scott is employed by Crum & Forster Pet Insurance Group and is a Plain Township Trustee. He has experience having served in a number of capacities including Project Management, Sales, Service Operations and Planning, Business Development Manager and Director of Operations in the banking technology security, healthcare and construction industries. Scott is past President and current Vice President of the Stark County Township Association, was an inaugural Township Board Member to The Stark County Land Reutilization Corporation, is a member of the Stark County Regional Planning Commission, the Ohio Township Association, and Plain Township’s appointed representative to the Stark County Council of Governments (SCOG) where he also serves as an Executive Committee Member to SCOG.

Scott is an avid community volunteer as he is a current Board Member of the North Canton YMCA where he chairs the Facilities Committee, Board Member Operations Flags of Freedom, Past Member of the Plain Township Rotary Club, Past Board Member/Officer of the DN Community Federal Credit Union and ALM Finance committee member, involved with Leadership Stark County, YStark! and Plain Township Historical Society. Scott invites everyone to call him at any time with their concerns or comments.

Albert P. Leno II Albert P. Leno II

Albert Leno was first elected as a Trustee in 1995.   A graduate of Oakwood High School, he has lived in Plain Township almost all of his life.   Albert was employed as a bailiff by the Canton Municipal Court for 22 years and has recently retired this past spring.   He also served for 22 years as a wrestling coach at Middlebranch Middle School.   He has one son, Spencer.   Albert endeavors to answer all questions and concerns promptly in order to serve Plain Township residents to the best of his ability.

John Sabo John A. Sabo

John A Sabo is a lifelong resident of Plain Township having been born and raised here, graduated from Glenwood High School in 1968, and was employed by the Plain Township Fire Department for 44 years including 17 years as Fire Chief. He retired in January of 2012. John has been married to Marilyn, a 1969 Glenwood graduate, for 48 years. They have a son, Brian, a 1992 Glenoak graduate and a daughter, Lindsay, a 2000 Glenoak graduate who are both teachers.

John has attended Kent State University and Stark State College and is an instructor in the Fire Science Degree and Certification programs and has been for 36 years. He has attended the National Fire Academy four times, three of which were courses specific to Incident Command and Incident Management.

In addition to being a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, John also became a fellow of the Ohio Fire Chief's Foundation at the Association's 2011 Annual Conference. In 2012, John was inducted into the Plain Local Hall of Distinction for community involvement. He has been involved with the Stark County Developmentally Disabled Great Pumpkin Race and the Heroes Flagpole Project in the Glenoak stadium at Bob Commings Field. He has received certification for completion in the Ohio Township Leadership Academy in 2017.
